Nurses are the most essential part of the medical world; without them, the entire system would collapse. IPH&H New Delhi celebrated the day with recognition and events to ensure this effort can be acknowledged.
The faculty team of IPHH New Delhi curated the event, which was a roaring success. The event was celebrated on 12th May 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. To give you some preview, the event is celebrated after Florence Nightingale, who is known to be the torch bearer of this field. The guests for the event were Dr Anita Mukherjee, who serves as the principal of IPH and H. It was also graced by Mr Anil and Ms Asha Nadar, who serves as the principal of the School of Nursing.
The event started with the keynote speech from Ms Akansha, the nursing tutor at IPH&J. The speech was addressed towards the guests. Also, the beginning of the event was launched by lighting the lamp by Ms Megha, a learning tutor at IPH&J. Following the lighting of the Diya, the students also undertook a pledge to fulfil as nurses. The programme was undoubtedly one of a kind, and it saw various kinds of dance and music performances by the nursing students from first and second-year batches. There were a total of four groups as well as solo performances for dance. There was also an interactive skit to make the event more engaging. The skit was based on personal hygiene – something which is less valued in today’s society!
Event Highlights!
- Various cultural events and poster presentations by the team of students on health awareness.
- Speech by Principal Mam about how nurses are an indispensable part of the system and what makes them so unique. The speech was both informative and motivating for our budding nurses.
- Award distribution by Ms Asha Nadar mam, for those students who made a mark in their academic year and came first in the academic year. Not only that but the awards were also given to the ones who had an overall promising performance in their academic year for both studies and extracurricular activities.
- The valedictory speech was given out by Ms Akansha for those without whom the event would not be possible.
- Refreshments were served for the students.
The event was one of a kind, and hence it was more than just a day to celebrate World Nurse Day. The students participated actively and enjoyed the day, which was meant for them. It would be safe to say that the event was motivating. The celebration was inspiring for the budding nurses to give them exposure to the noble profession they are joining.
