The classic 5-day trek I experienced allowed me to explore all the incredible Inca sites along the route, including Tarayoc, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, Intipata, and Winaywayna. We even arrived at Machu Picchu at 4:30 pm on the final day, giving us more time to appreciate the wonder of this ancient city.
A special highlight was the extra day provided by Ian Taylor Trekking, which gave me the chance to climb Huayna Picchu — an experience few get to enjoy. The guides, Percy, Robinson, and Elber, were knowledgeable, attentive, and ensured our group stayed safe and together throughout the trek.
