New Delhi, July 01 2026: RJ Corp Healthcare’s Group CEO (Cryoviva Life Sciences & Cocoon Hospitals), Dr. Alok Khullar, recently participated in the ‘Shadow A CEO’ programme, offering young management learners a rare opportunity to experience a day in the life of a healthcare leader navigating the intersection of clinical operations, organisational strategy and people-led leadership.

The programme provided participants with firsthand exposure to the dynamic decision-making environment of healthcare management, where operational excellence, regulatory readiness, patient-centricity and strategic clarity should work together. During the engagement, Dr. Khullar took the participant through real-time discussions, leadership frameworks and operational reviews, giving them a deeper understanding of how healthcare institutions are built, governed and continuously improved.

One of the key highlights of the day was a discussion around NABH accreditation for a new facility. Rather than approaching accreditation as a mere compliance checklist, Dr.Khullar encouraged a deeper understanding of the purpose behind these standards. He explained the evolution and intent of quality frameworks, reinforcing that strong healthcare systems are not built by simply ticking boxes, but by understanding why each standard exists and how it ultimately safeguards patient safety and enhances the quality of care. This perspective encouraged participants to view accreditation not as an obligation, but as a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in healthcare delivery.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Alok Khullar, Group CEO, RJ Corp Healthcare, said, “Healthcare leadership today requires much more than operational efficiency. It requires clarity of purpose, empathy, accountability and the ability to connect every process with patient outcomes. Through initiatives like ‘Shadow A CEO’, young professionals get to see that leadership is not about having all the answers, but about asking the right questions, understanding the root cause of every issue and building systems that are both flexible and deeply anchored in values.”

During the programme, Dr. Khullar also shared his leadership philosophy through the analogy of ‘String of Pearls’. He explained that while projects and people must have the flexibility to grow and adapt, they must remain connected by the organisation’s core values and standards. The “pearls” may move, but the “string” – representing values, culture and purpose – must remain intact.

The session also covered the importance of clear accountability through the RASCI matrix, distinguishing between being responsible for a task and being accountable for outcomes. Dr. Khullar also emphasised the importance of constructive feedback, highlighting that high-performing teams are built when leaders address the task without attacking the individual/employee.

The engagement reflected RJ Corp Healthcare’s commitment to nurturing future leaders and promoting a deeper understanding of healthcare leadership that goes beyond operations to include purpose, culture, accountability and patient-centred excellence.
